I finally go around to installing the peep hole our builder refused to give us. It wasn’t very difficult, at least it shouldn’t have been. Pro Tip #1: make sure the battery powered tools you want to use are charged. Pro-Tip #2: pay attention to the types and sizes of drill bits you are using. I ended up making the guide hole too large for the type of drill bit that would be making the actual hole. As a result there was a little wobble initially but luckily it was covered by the eye piece. Pro Tip #3: Put a block of wood against the side of the door you are punching through. This will help prevent or at least reduce any splintering out of the door. This I did manage to do with my wife’s help. We did have some splintering but nothing that the eye piece and a little caulking couldn’t hide.
Peep hole
September 23rd, 2009Do or do not, there is no try.
September 7th, 2009The plan is simple. I have a lot of projectors I’d like to complete. The problem is that I don’t have a lot of time to do them due to working two jobs. So maybe, just maybe, if I can get excited about them by writting about them I can get motivated to actually do them. It’s worth a shot anyway. But please keep in mind. Some of these projects, while simple to you, are new experiences for me. I’ve never been very handy or creative so I won’t be inventing the next greatest gizmo or gadget. I’ll be lucky to not loose a finger playing with power tools or to not electrocute myself playing with electronics.
