Summary
The Summary tab is the main workspace for turning a trade into a useful review. It brings calculated trade details, performance metrics, process review sections, and your written summary into one place so you can understand both the result and the quality of the decision-making behind it.
Details
The Details section summarizes the trade from its executions and rollups. Depending on the trade data available, it can show sessions, duration, opening balance, risk, target, movement, quantity, prices, and result.
Use this section to quickly understand what happened without opening each execution card.
Performance and review
The Performance and Review section helps you evaluate trade quality, not just profit or loss. It can include plan deviation, efficiency, excursion, review ratings, and process review data.
You can switch performance values between movement, R:R, and gross return where the controls are available.
MAP and MFP values recorded on close executions are used here for excursion and efficiency analysis. You can enter MAP/MFP manually on any plan, and Pro users can auto-fetch MAP/MFP from historical price data where the instrument and data range are supported.
Process review
Use the review sections to record preparation, execution decisions, management, mindset, exit quality, and post-trade review. Review ratings let you score parts of your process, such as entry, stop, target, management, mindset, and exit.
These sections keep the high-level review on Summary while the detailed fill, stop, target, broker, MAP/MFP, and allocation facts stay inside the expanded Executions cards.
Written summary
Use the Summary editor to record your trade thesis, context, decisions, lessons, or review notes. The editor supports rich text and images.
The summary is useful for a concise narrative of the trade. Use the Notes tab for additional private notes, and use the review sections when you want to separate preparation, execution, and review.
Collapsible sections
The Summary tab sections can be collapsed to keep the page focused while reviewing. Trading Vault remembers your display preferences for future trade reviews.
Executions
Learn how to record and manage trade executions in Trading Vault, including open and close executions, position management, scale-ins, scale-outs, allocation links, broker values, MAP/MFP, and moving executions between trades.
Notes
The Notes tab in Trading Vault allows you to write and store additional notes related to a particular trade. Use the rich text editor to format notes and add links or images. Keep your journal organized and clean for review with the summary.
