Trade Header
The trade header keeps the most important trade context close at hand. It gives you a quick overview of the selected trade and stays visible while you move between trade detail tabs, making it easy to keep the trade's identity, status, and result in view.
The header can show:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Symbol and market | The selected instrument and market type. |
| Direction | Long or short. |
| Status | Planned, executed, closed, or another current trade status. |
| Strategy | The strategy assigned to the trade. |
| Account | The account connected to the trade. |
| Planned date | The date for planned trades that have not been executed yet. |
| Open and close dates | The first open execution date and final close execution date when available. |
| Reward:risk | The selected R value calculated from the trade's executions and risk data. |
| Net profit | The trade's net profit after recorded commissions, fees, roll, dividends, and other costs. |
| Profit percentage | Net profit relative to the account balance used for the trade. |
Editing header details
You can edit the main trade details directly from the trade screen. Changing the instrument, direction, strategy, account, or status can affect calculations, execution labels, and chart overlays.
When a trade already has executions, Trading Vault protects important changes with validation or confirmation prompts so execution roles, prices, and rollups remain consistent.
Layout controls
The trade screen supports different panel layouts. Use the layout control in the header to switch between a single-panel view and split-panel views. Split layouts are useful when you want to review snapshots, charts, workflow notes, or executions beside another trade detail tab.
