Export Trades
Exporting lets you take the exact slice of your journal you are reviewing and turn it into a file for backup, spreadsheet analysis, reconciliation, coaching, or external reporting. Because exports use your current filters, you can export a precise dataset instead of downloading the whole journal and cleaning it later.
Open the Trades screen, set the filters you want, and choose Export from the actions menu.
Exports use the current trade filters. Dates and times are exported in UTC.
Export types
Trading Vault offers three export types.
| Export | Best for | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| Trade List | Compact spreadsheet analysis. | One row per trade with rollup values such as status, dates, symbol, market, direction, account, quantity, prices, risk, movement, reward:risk, profit, costs, and win/loss status. |
| Trade Journal | Backup and offline journal review. | One row per trade with trade list values plus summary, notes, workflow fields, review ratings, tags, and snapshots. |
| Executions | Broker-statement-style analysis. | One row per execution with trade ID, execution ID, symbol, market, direction, account, side, execution time, quantity, price, broker identifiers, broker costs, broker comments, net profit, and movement. |
Trade List export
Use Trade List when you want a clean analysis file. It focuses on the current trade rollups and does not include long-form journal text, tags, or snapshots.
Trade Journal export
Use Trade Journal when you want a fuller archive of your journal. It includes written journal fields, review sections, ratings, tags, and snapshot links.
Executions export
Use Executions when you want to inspect the raw execution rows behind your trades. This is useful for broker reconciliation, import review, and deeper spreadsheet analysis.
Each execution row is linked back to its trade so you can connect broker-style rows to trade-level results.
Export examples
Useful export workflows include:
- Export one strategy's closed trades for spreadsheet review.
- Export a full journal archive before major account or import cleanup.
- Export execution rows to compare Trading Vault records with broker statements.
- Export filtered trades for a mentor, prop firm review, accountant, or research process.
- Export trades with specific tags, symbols, or sessions to analyze a focused sample outside the app.
